A Moment of Mindful Eaters
Don’t believe anything else. Believe your body.
It’s exhausting, jumping on the next health trend, breaking the bank buying organic food, decoding what “GMO” actually means, and trying to figure out if MSG is really that bad for you. I’ve jumped from a vegan diet to pure carnivore mode—meat sweats are a real thing.
What finally liberated me of all this madness was listening to The Sporkful podcast “Why Won’t Anyone Invite Michael Pollan To Dinner?” My takeaway was two simple quotes by the author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Food Rules and Cooked:
“I think we all need to cultivate a more relaxed attitude about what we’re eating. You can take these concerns really too far and make yourself crazy, and it becomes a new eating disorder.”
“Eat Food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
The idea to start a moment of mindful eaters is beginning to take shape through Chasing Food Club. A gentle reminder to be kind to our bodies, to trust it and what it’s telling us. But most importantly, to be mindful of others and their lifestyle choices.
